Chado has over 400 different varieties of tea ranging from the classics to specialty to the very hard to find. Our teas are sourced from all around the world. A tranquil respite from the hectic pace of downtown, we are the perfect location for a quick refreshment or full afternoon spent with tea, sandwiches, scones, and sweets. Our indoor and patio is the perfect venue for a casual outing or special event/tea party.

History
Established in 2008.
Chado tea Room connected to the Japanese American National Museum offers a tranquil respite from the hectic pace of downtown. It's a civilized spot-white tablecloths, bone china, and all-to enjoy a quick refreshment or a full afternoon tea spread of sandwiches, scones with fresh cream, fruit and jam, and a selection of sweets. Offerings include 300 tea varieties, and authentic Japanese tea ceremony teas. If you just want lunch, enjoy a Waldorf salad or souchong chicken sandwich either inside or on the patio replete with bamboo and soothing fountains. It's an ideal spot for baby and bridal showers, or for a break from gallery browsing at the Japanese American Museum or nearby Geffen Contemporary.

Tek has been a fan of artisan tea, tea tradition, ceremonies, and customs for as far back as he can remember. With a passion for creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy tea, Chado is the perfect place for Tek to fulfill his personal interests while creating an amazing experience for his customers.
